Dujiangyan Scenic Area Access Pass

The Dujiangyan Scenic Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which contains an extraordinary dam-less irrigation system built more than 2000 years ago by the governor Li Bing and his son during the Qin ruling period. Located along the banks of the river Minjiang in Dujiangyan City about 60 kilometers northwest of the city center of Chengdu, the site immerses the visitor in a combination of ancient hydraulic engineering, fantastic river views and centuries of Taoist history. This iconic location is a never ending treat for history fans, families, and nature enthusiasts.

What Guests Are Saying

The feedback from the reviews posted on travel sites is always positive, and travellers can't help but be impressed at how a working water project has become a very picturesque and tranquil place to visit. The Fish Mouth levee and the roaring Feishayan spillway are both quoted by many visitors as being awe-inspiring; the crossing of the historic Anlan suspension bridge is reported as exciting and scenic. Some guests mention the apparent lack of enough interpretive signage onsite -- it would be a nice addition to have a guide or a voice-guide. One of the most common practical tips across the reviews: get there before the tour groups to enjoy the pathways.
